Wandsworth Park
In an effort to create more public parks the London County Council purchased 8 Hectares of allotments alongside the River Thames near Putney. The London County Councils first Park Superintendent, Lt Col J J Sexby was responsible for the design of Wandsworth Park which opened to the public in 1903.

The Putney Sculpture Trail stretches for one mile along the bank of the River Thames within Wandsworth Park. The sculptures were designed by Alan Thornhill with the first sculpture being unveiled in 1989.
